The Diet Therapies for Hypertension

Nowadays, high blood pressure has become a common disease among people, which seriously affect people's health. To prevent and cure hypertension, many people always turn to medicine. However, few of them know that diet is also an important way for the prevention and treatment of hypertension.
First, control the intake of fat, especially animal fat. Use vegetable oil instead of animal oil when cooking. You can eat more fish, as fish contains unsaturated fatty acids, which can make the cholesterol oxidized and thus lowering the plasma cholesterol. What's more, it can also extend the coagulation of platelets, inhibit the formation of thrombosis, and prevent stroke. In addition, fish also contains more linoleic acid, which has some effects in increasing the flexibility of capillaries, preventing angiorrhexis and some complications of hypertension.
Second, take in protein moderately. The appropriate amount of daily intake of protein for hypertensive patients is one gram per kilogram of the body weight. For example, if the weight of one person is 60 kg, then he should take in 60 grams of protein every day, in which vegetable protein should account for 50%. It is better to choose soy protein. Although soy protein doesn't have the effect of lowering the blood pressure, however, it can prevent the occurrence of stroke. What's more, you should eat fish 2 to 3 times every week, so as to improve the elasticity and permeability of blood vessel, increase the excretion of urination and sodium, thereby lowering blood pressure.
Third, eat more foods which contain much potassium and calcium, but little sodium, such as potatoes, eggplant, seaweed, watermelon, etc. Potassium can promote the excretion of cholesterol and increase the elasticity of blood vessel. In addition, it also has a diuretic effect, and can help to improve the contractility of myocardium. Calcium-rich foods such as milk, sesame, shrimp, green vegetables, have a protective effect on cardiovascular.

Fourth, diet should be bland in flavor. Appropriately reducing the salt intake can help lower blood pressure, and reduce the sodium and water retention in the body. While trying to use less sodium when cooking, you should also pay attention to the sodium content in the food. For example, fine dried noodles contain a lot of sodium. You can use salt substitutes such as salt-free soy sauce, which are beneficial for hypertensive patients.
Fifth, eat more green vegetables and fresh fruits, which are conducive to myocardial metabolism, and can improve cardiac function and blood circulation and promote the excretion of cholesterol, thus preventing the aggravation of hypertension.

Apart from the above mentioned tips, hypertensive patients should also keep away from foods which may excite the nervous system, such as wine, tea coffee. What's more, the smokers should quit smoking.
