The ideal sleeping for children is about 12 hours each night. Yet, there are some children who experience sleeping problem. Such a condition will impact the amount of rest they should take every night. The problem can be possibly caused by some different factors such as diet, exercise, and also the environment.
If this kind of problem gets no serious attention from you, it can possibly affect the activity of your child during the day. For this reason, you have to take some actions to solve that problem. The following are some steps you can do.
You have to make sure that your child has a regular schedule for sleeping. Establish the schedule for the time to go to bed and the time to get up as well. Try to follow this schedule all the week yet on the weekend. You can make an hour variance for the weekends.
Another alternative is to add warm as well as comforting bath before the bed's routine. It can help your child to fall sleep easier. Also, it will be important to read her/him a story. Right after she/he falls asleep or you finish reading the story for her/him, you have to leave the room and let your child sleep.
Setting the temperature is also a nice idea. It will make your child sleep comfortably in a cozy room. Don't set too cold or too hot temperature. In addition, before leaving the room, you have to make sure that the lamp is dark. It is to prevent her/him from waking up in the midnight due to the changes in lighting. Also, you have to make sure that the room is quiet.
Another important thing you have to do is not to give her/him any snacks ideally three hours before the bedtime or beverages with caffeine ideally six hours before bedtime. In addition, reduce the nighttime activity since it will lead her/him to sleep problem. Just be relaxed.
